AHHH the 70s Byron gotta love the 70s, that Q was the 70s in a nut shell whoohoo. I have so fond memories of that time I wish I was back there, when life was so simple with none of the bull#hit yuppie stresses of this day and age.

I've seen photos of the Mystere, and yes it was ugly too. There was one on Ebay recently with the same or similar kit on it. Still that HQ is far from pretty compared to other such cars like the turbo 308 HX GTS with snoflake wheels.

Yes Leo and the boys had some "fun" in the 70s. Byron, what ever you do do not go backl through old motor and wheels mags to se some of the other "styling" exercises, I would hate to see you having a heart attack.
My favourate was the HQ coupe, purple

Some of these design experiments really make you cringe but then i remember what i wanted to do for my first hotted up holden and superchicken looks heaps better.

Thanks for the thoughts Warren. I do remember all the way out vans of the late 70s and 80s, but they all had their place in some way (except for a few Bedfords from memory). I still reckon that HQ is uglier than just about anything else I ever saw in any |

The Q looks like shes set up for the drags with all that fiberglass, far out cold air intakes, fat ass tyres & evil kenevil paint job....

Does anyone remember the Street Machine article on the aborted EF Holden? It was a shocker, makes that HQ look fantastic. Have to agree Cannon The 70's was a great time and there were some excellent looking van's and ute's getting around.Also some less than attractive as has been mentioned previously.Back then the cars looked very individual also,you could tell the differen |

Yep Robbo it was a time of good and bad haircuts, good and bad music, extremely bad clothes, which all added up to great fun and real freedom. Everything was taken with a pinch of salt, the cops footed you up the arse and threatened to tell your parents
