Can anyone shed light as to why some mirror heads have a black plastic edge around the face of the mirror and some don't? Most of the ones around seem to have the edging, but mine don't. I need to replace one but am having trouble finding a matching one. Maybe I should just replace both with the black edge ones!!
Any info would be appreciated.

Hi Mandy.

The mirrors with the black plastic edge between the glass & the stainless housing are aftermarket.

The genuine Holden ones have no plastic in that spot.

There were 2- 3 local manufacturers in the early 80s who stopped producing due to the many imports from overseas.Wibroc & CPC were two of those makers who destroyed their tooling. GMH were buying their replacement heads from Taiwan.Today they are still im
