I also like the HK as that just cruisin feeling and the rear

We think alike Warren, and I do have a V2 series 1 CV8 as an everyday driver - well at least my Mrs does. I have to make do with a Cross8. Hope to really get stuck into a HK GTS this year too. Been waiting for the replacement rear wheel arch issue to reso

I love all the classic cars and spent a lot of my youth thrashing around in them. I still love my HQs although they handle like crap compared to new cars.
IMHO the best Monaro buil

Im biased but HQ coupe for me, when I was a young fella I would walk to footy training with a couple of mates and along the way was a truck depot and parked out the front was a silver HQ GTS 350, lowered, big dragways with very dark tinted windows and a s

Never fully understood the Phase III thing. Being a 4-door, not as successful at Bathurst as an XA RPO83 etc. As far as I am concerned, aside from the Bill Bourke XW the XA RPO83 is the ultimate Ford, Daylight second.

gee you guys are hard on 4dr monaros. next thing you will be bagging 4dr toranas. i think both 2 or 4dr cars based on the highest specs eg, hk 327, ht,hg350. hq350,308. hjxz 308 all with 4spd are worthwhile classic muscle cars.

Some very good points raised here but we appear to be missing the point. The HT GTS 350 is "The greatest Monaro of all time" as a number have said. Sure the HK GTS is a great car, the HK GTS 327 even greater, the V2 series I is also great but the subject

XW-XY GTHOs, surely you can never go past one of them. come on guys, how can you compare a torana or V2 commodore with a GTHO?

You can't as the rules changed after the GTHO, so for example an A9X in Group C spec will run rings around a GTHO in series production spec as that is the way they were built to run ie with the rules they adhered to. Note that on the flip side a road spec

i totally agree with you byron about the rpo83 fords. for winning 2 bathursts they are underated and under valued., just as is a l34 torana, having 2 wins compared to an a9x 4dr which only came 3rd.

they will always valued at what they are simply because of what they are, an XA, and just a torana with a 308 with an extra coil, and some crook looking allen key bolts holding on some equally poor fitting flares. doesnt matter how good it is or how origi
