Is there a figure out there maybe thru the monaro register or similiar, of how many HQ monaro coupes are known out there? ie Base,LS GTS models, a rough figure would be appreciaed. Have the Base models now become rarer than a GTS or LS?

Unfortunately there is no way to tell, as so many are being resurected, which you would have considerd write offs. An example is recently a green HQ shell with sunroof was auctioned at ebay, that car has been sitting at Eagle wreckers for the last 10 year

I would think base models are rarer in general as most would have been turned into GTS clones, also a large number would have been scraped over the years as they would not have had the same appeal to restore them.

Is their any information, post or a web site relating to the 2006 Monaro Nationals that provides model numbers and the number of vehicle entrered into the show?

No there is not, as no-one has ever gone tot eh trouble of breaking them all down. All cars have been recorded at each nationals, 98 by Ben and myself and every other event by the organisers.
