Hi Fellas,

Going back a couple of months there was a post 'What is the best and the worst ever Holden?' or similar. The Calibra copped a few hits as the worst and I started to wonder how much knowledge about the Calibra is fact and how much is myth. There are plenty of myths out there about various cars!

For example, someone said the Calibra was gutless. I can't imagine anyone who has owned or driven a Calibra thinking it to be anything but fast, nippy, sporty, quick off the mark, fun to drive, etc.

I wonder whether there is a lot of adverse comment spread by people who have never actually owned or driven a Calibra. So I ask those who have owned or driven one, what did you think of the car? But specify whether you are talking about the auto with 2-litre 8-valve engine (Gutless?), the manual with 2-litre 16-valve engine, or the V6 turbo (Gutless? I doubt it!).

My son has the 2 litre 16-valve engine. I think it flies, brakes well, looks great, handles well, VERY economical. Noice little car. The disadvantages are that some parts may be hard to get, and few mechanics know how to fix them. But I think these disadvantages result from the low number sold - not because the cars were not good cars.

I welcome comments from those who are quite familiar with these cars, not those who have heard good or bad things about them.
