hi I have just had the experience of buying a set of rear wheel bearings for a wb tonner which i proceeded to install, but when it came to putting the axels back in with the new bearings i couldnt get them back in after much frustration and shaking of the head it was discovered that the retainer that was supplied was too big. Its diameter is 53mm the inside diameter of my diff is 50mm. When i rang & complained 1st i was told it was my duty of care to make sure they were right before installation the i was told my diff must not be 1tonne so now I'm curious, does any one know the inner diameter of a 1tonne diff, is the retainer that came with the bearings right size 53mm or should it have been more like 48mm which is the size i had in a set of bearings for a HQ ute thanks any help appreciated Bye Len

I cant comment on the size but Id get a machine shop to turn the retainers down in situ rather than wasting brand new bearings.

1 tonner bearings are identical no non-1-tonner except the tonner bearing have a wider retainer, not bigger diameter. By wider I mean if you lay the retainer flat on a surface it it "taller" than the stock one. Shouldnt affect the axle going into the hous
