Can someone explain to me what a Fisher body is? I always though it was a generic term used for a GM made body. After reading an AMC mag last year that had a Monaro rally car in it with a Fisher body made in Woodville, did they have a seperate line to do low production work.
Thanks
Leroy

The Fisher Coachbody company was formed by seven brothers in 1908 where they built horse drawn carriages. Later they started building bodies for car companies like Cadillac, Studebaker, Ford, Pontiac, and it grew from there. Their emblem is a Horse drawn

Holden were a body builder just like Fisher.
Many 1920s & 30s Ausse Chevs have imported chassis & running gear with a locally made Holden body on the top.

Fisher were simply another body builder.

Cheers,

Mick
