Hi everyone, What are my options for throttle cable to suit v8 hj. Ive just taken out the factory one due to stretch, Ive messed about with the pedal adjusting plate, cable bracket and I just cant get it in the sweet spot to crack a 750dp. Can I use a cable from a different model perhaps? early commy with the nut adjusters? later efi cable? Am I missing something? its a factory cable circa 1978, who makes a replacement if I cant buy new?

What are my other options? Id nearly settle for a mech. setup off a hq except I have a pretty clean bay and dont need the clutter.

Dont you just adjust the pin that the cable goes onto on the carb up or down by drilling a new hole or useing other holes so the travel of the linkage on the carb is less or more to suit the pedal travel.

Obviouslly if you put it closer to the shaft i

If I move the cable to a new position on the carb, Im still limited by pedal travel. If I go further out on the linkage I lose throttle opening, if I go closer I gain but as you say, at the expense of increased pedal pressure.

If you move it closer and the pedal is too heavy, try a lighter return spring on the throttle (or move the return mounting point closer if spring is under tension)
