Remote key replacement for worn out buttons

My VT remote had worn out rubber buttons. I was told that it would cost me about $100. I was told by friend that you could buy it for $24! from this site http://home.people.net.au/~polmex Seems to be very cheap. Wander if anyone ordered any buttons from them.

The remotes are cheap(even geniune ones)Its getting them coded that cost the money.I have seen remotes with the chevy bowtie logo on the back instead of the holden logo go on Ebay strating from 10.00

All i do is fill the button area with 3bond or silastic and smooth it out with a wet finger,then let it set over a day or two....hey presto! new buttons. Has lasted over a year now with everyday use.

I used to work as a mechanic in a Holden dealership a few years ago now, from memory they used to charge $65 to program the new key head even when the customer had already fitted it themselves! Pretty rude considering it's a 2 minute job!

Dunno, hadn't thought about selling them. I've got an entire box of keys that have never been used (spares off fleet vehicles that no-one bothered to match up to the cars when they went to auction.
How about $20 per remote posted? I'll just cut the end

Got some buttons for my VT from ebay the other day for $26.95. Its te same guy that sells it from polmex.
