Hi Byron, I noticed you made some comments on the Ermine white HK 307 on ebay.... it was sold a few years ago by my best mate to a guy who on sold it to a guy in VIC... it is an original ermine white on white HK.... the underbonnet and under boot markins for howells motors are original.... i can confirm however that the car left my friends hands as a 186S without its original motor and with no books.... he has contacted the seller who is gobsmacked as this is how he bought the car.... My mate is forwarding the photos of the plates and engine bay to the seller who I believe is going to try and get his money back.... if any of you guys want photos of this car in the configuration it was sold a few years ago let me know your email address and I will forward them for the register..... the ebay item number is 270258235884 and the guy was hoping for $92,000 for a matching number car with books..... whats it worth now....

If it is an early car as the BODY plate on the firewall suggests, and it is also an original Ermine white car with 18Y trim then it's probably worth good money still, especially if it is as good as it looks. As it is now I still reckon it's worth $45k or

Interesting, is the book a repo or a NOS one?

This goes to show that anyone buying a monaro needs to have a good look.

I wonder what the engine number is? That would probably be the best give away to someone who does not have the info we have here.

Hey Byron. You say above a pre 69 Ermine white GTS is maybe a one of a kind. I have a 11/11/68 build Ermine white GTS. Was this combination rare for that era?

I have conversed with the owner, and i'd rather not let too much out on it but as you can see by the photos in the above link and what is in the auction questions/answers the car was a 6cyl auto. The auction now shows a photo of the boot which shows no 6"

How can you be sure its the same car if the owner hasn't given out the details of the numbers?

Still, it's a cool car (which looks $H!7 hot in white) and I reckon if I was in the financial position to do so I'd have no qualms about forking out 92K for

Look closely at the auction. The Pagewood build number is in the questions/answers and also in the photos in the link above.

I agree on the car too. It bothers me not at all that a 186S car is "upgraded" to 307 specs. HK GTS is probably the only Holden

"The log book is another issue altogether"

The sad thing is the original "history" of the car is lost when this happens. If the 186S HK I have had its original engine and box Id keep it and pass it on to any subsequent owners so they could swap it back if they wanted.

Frank, the logbook buyer and seller is on ebay's books. Despite any stonewalling this information is available and will take lots of research. Similarly, for the perpetrator of the original fraud.

There is no doubt in my mind that if the facts pan out
