Has anyone fiited a late model a/c to a HQ or similar? Have a VN and looking to adapt the a/c to fit the HQ. Any help appreciated.

I was goin to but gave up! i was converting a vp calais ac unit into mine but its to tall and the pipes come out the top! so you would have to cut out a section or totally remove your cowl gutter to make it fit!..

I haven't adapted a Commodore aircond unit but have you considered using an aftermarket arrangement? If you search the wreckers long and hard you may come across a complete set-up that was fitted new to the HQ-HZ. I have an old one out of a HZ t

The original factory type work well, Just use a modern compressor as these drain less power from the motor.

The originals front up through the auction sites and through the forum from time to time. They replace the cabin ducting, and include vacuum operated bits as well as cable.
Castle also do an under dash unit which is a little bulkier, but looks easier to

As those above have said, HQ-WB is easy to fit but requires you to disassemble the dash. Best way is to get a firewall cut off a Statesman and transfer it all across bit by bit. Requires a 32mm hole and 3 overlapping 16mm holes in the firewall and 2 screw

PaulG you asked to text my number. The air unit I have came from a HZ statesman. It has everything you will need including all cables and vacume lines. I am in Sydney

I personally could not be stuffed with the old antiquated Holden stuff.
I have a Vintage Air set up in my HZ Ute. It goes under the dash in place of the standard air box, plumed up to the standard vents.
Its is vacuum operated all in one unit. It also h

I might have misread it but i thought the suggestion was to chop a firewall out of a statesman and use it.
