why are we being gouged over the price of lpg ?

i've had my hq ute converted for just on a year

and a year ago, the best price i could get for gas was about 46 cents per litre at shell in nambour

now we're paying 73 cents a litre for a non-commodity priced "waste" by-product

another 1 for that toothless tiger, the ACCC

I wrote to the ACCC about this when the LPG price jumped suddenly and inexplicably. They did not get back to me. Maybe if we all phone them and ask why they might think about doing something.

Hi all

Just a couple of clarifications, LPG is not a "waste product" it is a component of coal seam gas or the gas that comes out of the well with oil.

The major component of this gas is 90% methane and 5% of it is butane and propane together. There

You beat me to it SkyDog, Im sitting here on a rig in the Timor Sea right now as we pull Propane and Butane and other goodies out from under the sea. LPG has never been a waste product of anything.

Our flare is always lit incase of plant trips or shutdowns, and its mostly natural gas (Methane)

The process needs flow, and when something shuts down or trips you cant just instantly stop the process so its dumped up the flare stack while we try to ge
