head numbers, all XU-1s except last replacement 2815843, 186X 2817134, 202 HG adjustable and HQ nonadjustable 2811930, HG173 adjustable and HQ non adjustable 2811929. i have a few more too if thats any help? mike81973

Awesome HQSS, thanks very much exactly what i wanted. If you ever need casting number info on anything else let me know i have lots from holden, ford, chev, chrysler, pontiac, buick etc.

Hi coopers308. I have also got a few exhaust manifold casting numbers and I still need to go through some of the other parts I have as well (V8 heads etc)to add to the lists, so if you are interested in them as well send me a email on the address I poste

im thinking of buying a holden motor thats in a landdrover.i dont know what size motor is cause on the side of the block where it normaly has 186,202,etc it has hp in big lettering.can anybody advise as to what it means

Its an EH 179 (possibly early HD also).

Technically he is right...its is High Performance...when compared to its stablemate 149...but eventually they realised they were going to increase the capacity to 186 so it would no longer be the "High Performance" engine of the range so they dropped HP f
