This honey of a car has 1-owner from 1970, genuine 106,000 miles covered and never been on dirt-roads. Pristine condition in metallic Silver with Black vinyl roof. Running her original 308 cid V8 with the standard 3-speed Trimatic box of the era. All the tags and numbers are there. No rust! Nothing to spend whatsoever. Talk to me with a bid close to AU$60,000 (or should it be more?).

REVISED PRICE / EXPLANATION: I personally dont like "hidden costs", so let me explain the "PRICE":

Purchase Price AU$47,350.00
Shipping to Melbourne and Duties AU$ 9,150.00 (BUYER'S ACCOUNT)
TOTAL FINANCIAL OUTLAY AU$56,500.00

Plenty of references available.

************ Some useless "History" follows ***************** "Some HK/HT/HG series HOLDEN Monaro 'GTS' coupes were exported fully assembled from Australia to South Africa, or alternatively assembled in South Africa from CKD PACKED imported parts manufactured by GM Holden of Australia by General Motors South African (GMSA)at the Port Elizabeth assembly plant.
Later the GM HG-body series was assembled and sold in SA badged as the Chevrolet SS. At this time GMSA had made a decision to market most of its products marketed in South Africa as Chevrolets.
The Chevrolet SS Coupe (as it became known in SA) was based on the HG Holden Monaro in many respects with revised front styling unique to the SA model and incorporating four headlights and large turn indicators in the front edge of the fenders above the bumper (was the Australian "BATHURST" edition also sold with a quad-headlight grille?).

Most of the GM Holden Monaro/Chevrolet SS Coupes assembled in SA were fitted with GM Holden derived 308cid engines. The GM-USA Chevrolet 350cid (5.7 L) engine was available as an option in the GMSA assembled Chevrolet SS".

Apparently only sixty-four (64) MONARO GTS 350's were ever imported and/or assembled in South Africa.

Thanks for the one-sided e-bay references mate! Seems that you have missed several others for AU$53k, AU$60k, etc. let alone adverts on sites like Unique Sales with many examples well over AU$100-300k plus. Are you implying that the particular car is not

I'm not the one who is dreaming, SA-locals have finally caught a wake-up to numerous Australian businessmen ("raiders") who bought a whole bunch of our cream stock at ridiculously low prices.

Well, thankyou I think.

Whilst I don't see myself ever affording either variety of Monaro (SA or AUS) I can only agree with you about the prices. There are so many pitfalls with buying a Monaro here in Australia and too many sharp operaters are moving
