Hi Byron and others,

After removing a full length headlining from a HZ Kingswood van the other day I noticed that not only did it have the teeth at the back, but also extra sheet metal spot welded on down the sides (which standard vans dont have). About 50mm high by 2m long. This obviously allows the lining to finish off neatly on the sides and something for the windlacing to clip onto.

I assume all HJ-HZ Sandmans would have this, so knowing this would make it easier to ID a Sandman if the back end was missing or someone had attempted to copy the teeth. Have photos.

Full length headlining and door switches are standard on Kingswood vans (ie HX-HZ). I've never noticed the side sheetmetal before.

Interesting Mikey, it must have been a delete option which I'm sure the tradies would have taken advantage of.

I spoke to a guy who bought a maranello red WB van new in 1982 and fully optioned it, with the intention of making it his own version of a W

Mikey, don't forget that the full elgth headlining was actually 2 x separate headlinings ie a front one and a rear one. The rear one may have just been pulled out.
