This may seem a strange question to some, but I'm gonna ask.

I've seen XD's and XE's with XF and even XH front panels (guards , bonnet, bar, lights), but is this compatibility able to be reversed?
I've got an XG S Pack ute, but was never really a fan of the XF-XG front section. There's something about the lights and grill that look a bit dated. The XE front however, I'm a big fan of. The big headlights, the sharp indicators, the slim grill, the bumper with the black rubber lip at the bottom. It just all looks right. Will it be a bolt on job to put XE sheetmetal on, or are there too many differences?

I think that the biggest difference when changing fronts from XG to Xe is that the XG has four high beam headlights whereas the XE only has two on anything less than a Fairmont Ghia.

So in a nutshell yes it's all bolt up, wire and drive.

Good to hear. A little bit of rewiring I can handle no worries. Now to find a donor XE.
If you hear of any in the area Jim let me know. My property is out at Hoskinstown, even though I pretty much live in Canberra.

What colour do you want it to be?

White if possible. Doesn't really matter though. Plenty of spraypainters still owe me favours.

Not XE but better. Pity about the distance though:

Yeah, bit far. I used to have both a Fairlane and an LTD. I didn't have anwhere to keep them at the time though so I pulled out the engines and Gearboxes and some other good bits and scrapped the rest.
