I just picked up a VN for $150 and am going to plant the engine/driveline in my HR wagon. Anyone done one before? Just looking for possible snags or useful hints. Ive sussed out the parts from Castlemaine Rod shop but just looking for any heads up's i should know about.

It will cost you at least $7000....with all the hidden extras....so make sure the HR is in good nick.....

it will cost you around that, its the little stuff that costs...so put a small block chev in it, if you are going do all that work and effort. Pat Gardner at V6 Conversion does a good job, I have seen his stuff and its good.

I've got good mates that are performance car engineers/mechanics that are gunna do a fair chunk of the hard yards for me so i'd say they'll cut the costs down a bit. Is there anything i can do to help prepare the car or anything like that? I just want to

strip it out, CLEAN IT AND CLEAN IT AND CLEAN IT THOROUGHLY underneath, make sure you have all the bits you need ready or close to readiness. Front end must be modified for oil pan, hack of battery box from inner guard, remove your steering box and column

Considering the kit from V6COnversions is only $2500, and you have ability or mates with ability, I cant see it costing too much. You have an entire car as the donor, and the kit seems pretty comprehensive. They even have stub axles which will take the br

make your own engine mounts etc
harness is about $650
make your own sump etc etc
any more than $2000 i want to know why
