Hi,
My question today is about the numbers following the prefixs in holden engine numbers. Does anyone know how you can find out at which number a model started and finished - so you can tell if is an early or late example? My question is more directed at 6 cyls as the V8's have date codes to go by.

Hi cooper308.

The 6-cyl engines do have casting dates. As a matter of, so do most large castings including inlet manifolds.

The 6-cyl date code is on the side of the block near the oil filter.

Dr Terry.
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
