I bought a set of HT HG 253 308 engine mounts NOS for my LC v8 conversion as i was told this is what you use. i only got the rubber mount parts and now i have them they obviously dont bolt up like the HQ onwards type mounts. I need a picture or discription of the part that bolts to the block? or if anyone has some for sale. cheers dan |

you have to use HQ type mounts, the mounts and the rubbers, they fit straight on the perches that are welded on the front xmember of the LC
AFTER 1972 THERE AINT NO MUSCLE CARS AND MATCHING NUMBERS ARE FOR TIMES TABLES....

is there are diferance between HQ and HZ mounts? are LH LX mounts the same as HQ? |

There are four different type of engine mount to block adapters for the 253/308. Commodore sits the engine further forward so that the dizzy clears the Commodore firewall. HQ-WB (which you have), HT-HG and Torana. Torana ones look just like Kingswood Edited by user Tuesday, 9 September 2008 1:07:40 AM(UTC)

JUST USE HQ TYPE, THE WHOLE LOT OFF A HQ!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrr..they fit!! ffs.. i think that was fitting a chevy WE WRECK 81837 and it was a good paragraph. i got direceted to the toana forum for the 308 conversion and im geting people telling me diferant things i have some extractors i have an old 253 and tranny on it so im gunna tr |

what exhaust tho??? HQ-WB pacemaker or Genie or which ones??? you can use a commodore drivers side Pacemaker, have you ground the lip off the LH outrigger so the starter doesnt sit on it??

genie extractors, the car had a 253 in it was a half done project that had some wild home made engine mounts that would not nearly pass a roadworthy, the starter was a standard and seem to fit with there mounts and the extractors hit on the steering. i am |

HQ-WB pipes either in Genie or Pacemaker will not fit. Pacemaker did make a set(part no. was PH315) to fit this conversion many years ago, but stopped and the jig is now with Castle Exhaust, but they are nowhere near as nice as the pacemakers were. I wou
