Seller on Ebay with a HR ute claiming to be a X2 but has a 179.
Can anyone confirm that X2s only had the 186?

hd X2 had 179X motor.... hr X2 had 186K from memory

It cannot be the original engine... HRs had only 186s & 161s fitted.
All performance HRs had motors with the prefix 186Kxxxxxx
the 179 might have replaced a 186K but without the books you wont know whether its the real deal.

That seller must think all Ebayers are clueless.
No VIN or engine number in its stats and yet he describes it as -
1. For sale one genuine holden X2 HR ute , this has been in the family since new , ordered from local dealer as is...FITTED WITH A 179, |

That seller must think all Ebayers are clueless.
No VIN or engine number in it's stats and yet he describes it as -

Fair call if its wrong and the advertising is misleading as a result we wreck. Might save some poor sucker getting had. GT knows his stuff on HR Holdens so his comments have a firm basis.
