I have a little trailer with what Im told are Holden wheels on it.

14" wheels. I've only got two. I need a spare. But I can't find one.

Nothing fits. I must have exactly the right thing because the axle is so short there's no leeway. A fatter tyre will rub against the body. Wheels with a greater 'throw' towards the body will rub against the body.

Here's the dimensions of the existing wheels:

The bolt holes are half inch.

There are five of them.

There are 2.25inches between centres. Or 1.75inches from one side of one bolt hole to the nearest side of the next.

The distance from the raised rim around the central axle hole to the rim of the wheel on the backside of the wheel (nearest the vehicle) is 3.75inches. Or from the surface at the bolt hole to that rim is 4inches.

I've been variously told they are HR or HT wheels. I got a wheel was supposed to be the same thing but the distance from bolt hole surface to rim was 4.75 inches!

That distance is what I'm calling the 'throw' of the wheel. That's how far back towards the body of the trailer the wheel reaches from the axle flange when it is bolted on.

Reaching back 4" is okay. Reaching back 4.75" is no good.

Can anyone identify these wheels so's I can make another effort to track one down?

They arent early Holden / Torana, HQ-HZ or Commodore.

The smallest PCD is from the Early/Torana and its 2.5" centre to centre (PCD is 4.25").

HQ is 4.75" PCD and Commodore is 120 mm.

There arent too many smaller Holdens with 14" wheels.

They won't be Camira/Calibra, because these have only 4 studs. Abrogard said his trailer wheels have 5 studs.

My guess is that they're early Valiant rims, they have 5 studs & a 4-inch PCD.

In the time it probably took you to measure all that up and type it out you could have thrown the thing in the boot, gone down to your local tyre and wheel joint and they could have told you what it is from instead getting some guesses from here.

The PCD is a circle drawn through the centre of all of the holes.

With the bottom pic you should be measuring from the top of the ridge as this is the face that sits on your brake hub.

That cuts it down considerably. The only Holdens that had 14' rims with a 4.25" PCD were HK/HT/HG (if you exclude the L34 & A9X Toranas). The HT/HG have less backspacing than the HK versions.
