I have a hq running a 308 standard as they come.
When in park the engine idols nice but in drive sitting at lights ect the idol becomes irratic and revs constantlly drop giving the feeling the engine is about to stall.
Any ideas appreciated.

Possible leaking brake booster ie vacuum.

Your idle should be set when in drive and hand brake on so the motors under gear box load

Hi,get the car running and spray crc around the intake and air hoses to see if they are leaking,if the revs pick up you've found a leak,failing that start at the distributor and go from there,ps handbrake on ,in drive to put load like your at the lights s

From my experiences on my 253 & tri combo it has been one of the following:
(1) All initial timing must be with the dizzy vacuum removed and plugged. So get the points and plugs right too at this time.
(2) the throttle and idle mix must be set with car
