My XP has a speedo that wanders all over the place. It goes from 20 to 60 while I'm doing 40. It also makes awful noises! How do you repair them?

it could quite possibly be that your cable isn't fixed into the back of the speedo correctly. reach behind the speedo and undo the cable, pull it away then push it back in and do up and see if it makes a difference. it only does up by hand tightness and d

sounds like the speedo cable is dry inside, try spraying some spray grease down the guts of it. Or replace the cable.

sly376 is probably right there. Here's how I used to do it. Undo the speedo cable from the back of the speedo head. Get a piece of cardboard and put a hole in the centre of it using a philips head screw driver. Get a bit bit of grease on two fingers and s

Thanks for that guys. The grinding sound seems to have stopped by itself. Will lube cable....
