Looking at getting the HK bumpers & door handles etc rechromed, have been told because of OH&S laws (here in NSW) modern day plating is not up to scratch and no warranties are given.

Can anyone throw some light on this issue, please.

Yes, that is the case. You can only get a good chrome plating job done in NSW, if you send it over the border.

I have lived here since 1978 and Everlast have been in Fyshwick ACT all of that time so if they moved over the border for OH&S laws it was before then.

If at first you dont succeed then skydiving is not for you.

Yeah everlast has always been in Fyshwick but it was sold years ago but the old owner keeps the chrome shop.

Its now called Chrome World and still is next to everlast but there is no connection beteen them anymore.

They told me all about the shop when I had my XT Bumper chromed there.

It cost $440 and they did a top job which still looks like new today.

A mate got quoted (in Newcastle)$340 per rim to get chromed. That was NOT including getting the rim dismantled and rewelded back together.
I thought that was expensive.

Try Glenn Gleeson Chrome in Bundarra NSW. He does it the proper way and also specializes in chroming diecast . Used him many times awesome work . Even the doctor sometimes gets it wrong !!!
