Hi everyone, I recently bought a HQ Premier sedan with a set of mags on it. Part of the deal was also a set of 7JJ x 14" GTS wheels. I cant find any info on what model car the 7" rims come from, all Monaro's and Torana's seem to only have 6" rims. I want to fit the GTS rims, so I have been looking at getting a Tyre Placard from whatever model they come from to put inside the glovebox. Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm sure the technical experts will give you the full drills, however most states and insurance companies allow what they call "plus one", which means you can go plus one inch on width and/or plus one inch on diameter on the largest size wheels fitted to

It needs to be +1 or whatever it happens to be in each state on YOUR car. Just because a wb statesman had bigger wheels than a wb ute doesnt mean that if you have a wb ute you can have the +1 starting from the statesman. does that make sence?

Get a 1971 tyre placard.what year is your car?there is technically a difference in this question ,as in sa the rule book says 71 no real limits (except guard rubbing)72 had measurements ...1973 up to 76 different again,but id say 7 inches will be fine no |

There is no such thing as a "1971" placard. Tyre placards did not come out until the introduction of adr24 which is believed to be in early 1973. So saying that not all HQs legaly even have to have a tyre placard. |

Thanks everyone. Basically the plan is to fit the wheels to the car( which is a 3/73 by the way) and if I get pulled up by the cops for whatever reason and they think the wheels/tyres are too big, then hopefully they'll look at the placard saying 7" and s

In sa rules that ive got, it doesnt say HQ it says 1971 ..72 ..73 to 76 etc
Thats what i meant,anyway go on the net and look at the rules.(its not hard) |

Neill, its a good chance those wheels you have come from a Pontiac. They had those rims in 14x7 and 15x7.
