Everyone says the trimatic is no good so can you guys tell me what are or what you think are the week points? i had one in a worked 5 litre LH it was stock standard apart from the convertor and it lasted 12 months before it gave up the ghost but went thru around 15 V8 LSD and locked banjo diffs so i figured that wasnt to bad for the old traumatic. I wanna have a go at rebuilding one and modifying it so any advice would be good. i no longer have the turbo block or TH350 so you guys dont need to throw that at me. Dan |

Trimatics are a great box. IMHO the biggest issue is their internal leaks lowering the fluid pressure and extending shift times. This doesnt do the clutches any favours. Cheers.

In an light weight car you should have too many drama with a properly built trimatic, keep it cool is the best advice. As for destroying diffs consider them the fuse for the rest of your driveline and make friends with your local wrecker. :P
