Well after a long 18 month process I have eventually got my HJ Sandman back (Byron you already have this one recorded).
Now I need to get it down to Shannons (insurance) so they can value it for an agreed value. Just hunting around at what the experts reckon it is worth!!
Body has been totally restored with all rust cut out and metal plates welded in. All panels are original with the exception of the tailgates and a side door which were two rusty and had to be replaced.
Engine is not original - it is a 308 with muncie 4 spd.
Seats have been re- upholstered in original nylex vynl, new carpet, usual gts bits.
Headlining is still to go in and a few other small bits and pieces will be done as the funds are available!
Any questions, just post them up.

Hopefully these pictures work!!

Super looking van.

Id say $25K - 27K if original 308 plated van. Very similar one went on EBay for $25,600 on 28/2/08. You can see pictures of it at Shannons (http://www.shannons.com.au/auctions/lot/?id=A981H996566CLDC) as it got passed in by them be

Agree if it was totally original, but not having the original driveline will drop it back a little bit. Dont forget that the most valuable Sandman should be a HQ Kingswood ute XX7 308 M21, but a mickey mouse example changed hands only a month or so ago at

Ute or van? 173, 202, 253 or 308? Manual or auto? Kingswood or Holden?
