How can I find out what car my Hi comp 253 with QR prefix on eng No. and date stamp of (1K3) which is (1/10/1973) Came out of.
Can I email or contact any one to find out?
Can any body help me out? Thanks.

Hi jimpram.

This probably doesnt help much, but all you can glean from the QR prefix & the casting date is that it came out of an HQ of some sort. There would be no way of telling exactly which model unless you had access to the factory records.

They wouldnt look for it for you. Cars are recorded by PSN, so without sitting in front of the records for ages you wont find the engine number,.

GMH only has records up to mid 1978, so hopefully both are earlier than that.

Sandman is an L31 engine. Vehicle is 1/78

GTS is an L32. Built 12/77

Both of those will be in GMHs records. They wont tell you anything on the Sandman other than what mechanicals it left the factory with (which is already on the ID plates) though as they would have no record of it being a Sandman.

For 1/78 I have the following engine numbers QT915322 and QT920310
Dont have any numbers recorded for 12/77 but try between Qx900000 and Qx914xxx

Cheers guys. At least I have a general idea of what to look for. I dont plan on ever selling them ( id love a HX LE to complete the "set" ) but I thought itd be good to have a near to original block for them. Ive got a couple of QT blocks, but theyre all
