Could somebody please advise if the disc brake master cylnder on a HQ was originally painted black or was it left as a cast iron finish from factory

AFAIK they were all natural finish not painted.

Hi Guys.

This is a good question, Ive seen them both ways. I worked on these cars when they were new & I would have to say that GM-H sent them out either way.

Thats what I love about this place I can come here everyday and learn something new. Dr. Terry was it a factory thing like the body tag or was there more than one supplier for the master cyl?

AFAIK, all big nut brake master cylinders (HK to HZ) were made in-house by GM-H.
