Ive been looking at getting a new performance carb for a 350, been looking at the 750 holley and demon 750, would anyone recomend one over the other, good or bad points about either???

Holley any day.

Demon look good on show cars.

I hang out with drag racers all day long, visit car racing events in the USA and 95% of the cars have Holleys bolted on top. For good reason !

Demon are for people who just bolt on carbies and dont tune them.
tuning isnt just jets and idle mixture.
some times they need driling and grinding and other stuff to get max power.

Hey Luke, Do you have any back to back test results between a BG and a holley.
Id be intereseted to see them. Im not pro for either brand.
I used to run a good 780 vac sec for yrs. Id compared it to 650, 750 & 850 DP holleys but not went as good as the

ive seen a few bg carbs that were full of swarf, and at least one where the boosters are in different positions in each venturi.

Not saying they dont work, and that holley dont fark up, but ive rarely seen a 750hp that needs attention other than basic

I had heard of the worries about shwarf, so I pulled mine apart and never found anything bad.
As far as the idle goes, I havent got anything to complain about. One night my ignition switch jammed and the only way I could turn it off/on was disconnecting

My understanding of the Barry Grant carbs is that he began(years ago) modifying holley carbs to make them more tunable and after a while started actually putting his name on them and selling them as barry grant carbs.

To say Holley were a bit pissed of

Out of the box a Holley
If your prepared to pull the BG down clean it out blueprint it to make sure all passages are drilled and check for swarf there a good carby ugly bugger but

I purchased a brand new 9 inch TRU-TRAC detroit locker a while ago and before I installed it I pulled it apart to see how it works(as you do)and couldnt beleive my eyes,it was full of metal swarf.

Made in AMERICA,bet you wouldnt see that out of them qu
