Hey first time poster on this site im only young and have a hx ute with a 202 3 speed man. i have only had autos before and know how to put oil in but to me was weird with manual boxes oil they use? like do the manual gearboxes just use engine oil unlike the auto where they have there own fluid?

Use gear oil (for diffs and gboxes), someone might give you a tip on a good brand and viscosity.
There should be a plug or big bolt in the side of the gbox housing;
You pour oil in this plug hole and when the oil level is to the point it wants to run o

ok kool so why dont they have the spout like the autos do to check them?

cos your manual Gbox oil doesnt transfer into the torque converter so the level doesnt change unless you have a leak

Why does used gearbox oil smell so BAD?
It has to be one of the baddest smells on the planet!

It always reminds me of the stale smell my old-man left in the crapper....not nice....
