Hey guys.
I tried installing an LSD diff centre with 3.55 crownwheel.. and the backlash was over 100thou. so i tried spacing it over.. couldnt get it anywhere near. so what i ended up finding out was that the LSD centre i have is a 2.7 to 2.9 ratio one.. and i need a 3 to 4.44 ratio centre. Am i able to use a spacer behind the crownwheel to fix the difference?
or do i needa bite the bullet and go out and find a higher end ratio LSD??
By the way, it's a salisbury.
Cheers

You are correct - 2.60 and 2.78:1 Salisbury are a different hemisphere to the 3.08, 3.36, 3.55, 3.9 and 4.44:1.

You used to be able to buy spacers for the Chev 10-bolt to fit lower ratios, but ive never seen one for a Holden. I think youll either have

ok. i just had a very quick search around for a spacer and came up with this..
The landovers of the same era had salisbury diffs. ARB sells a spacer for the crownwheel.
Does anybody know whether this spacer is of any use for my purpose?
Cheers again

nah mate im rebuilding the diff. the backlash would take 2 years to be taken up. and by that time ill shatter the crown wheel. so what i really wanna know from anyone is, whether that ARB-RD03A will work fr my purpose.

Salisbury is a type of diff construction, not a brand. Landrover will be very different.

Put it this way, a 351 Cleveland is a 90 degree V8. So is a Holden 253. Nothing is interchangeable. That is about how similar a Holden 10-bolt Salisbury will be to a Landrover Salisbury.
