Jusy wondering if anyone has dropped an EF/L motor into an XY?

We contemplated this a few years ago and measured up my EF engine and my brothers XW engine bay. The conclusion was that yes it can be done but you would have to offset the engine to the drivers side so that the inlet manifold will clear the shock tower.

I'll be looking a bit closer. I found some info on the web about Smartlock bypass and also another guy has a 5.0L in an XW which suggests a fair bit of room.

My bad I was talking straight 6's.

The 5.0 is a snack as it's basically just a 302 Windsor as fitted to XY's from the factory but it has injection added.

To fit one of those to an XY just fit the engine with XR-XE engine mount rubbers, fit the c
