so yall,
http://i37.tinypic.com/2h2k03s.jpg[/IMG]
as you can see from the pic, the cast bridging clamp thingo, has broken,,
the push rod appears to be straight,,, and strangely the engine runs, does not backfire, and really seems to be running on all 8..??
figure that out!!!
could it be that the nut has simply vibrated out??
and broken the bridge thingo,?
can i check if that valve is ok,,while i have R.Cover off..??
if so how?
while r.r is off, what process should i take to clean, lubricate, and fix problemo?
thanks already,
bcb

there called pivots and the bolts are tightened to 25pounds and are non adjustable so its fine just to put a new pivot in and tighten the 7/16 bolt down. you cant realy check the valve with out removing it. if the rest are fine im sure that one is aswell.

As was stated, theyre fixed position, so just bolt a new one straight in.

Be careful with the bolt though, use a torque wrench, theyre easy to over

The arrows point toward the carb/inward.
When your tightening rockers bridges down, be aware the some will be tightening down when the valve is open, so be carefull that each pair of bolts is tightened down evenly, so that the bridge goes down straight,

Did the bolt break?
There is a chance that whatever it was that got lost in the carbie in your other thread might now have made its way to the piston crown?
