As far as I understand the SS was just a market test to see if a 4door GTS would sell, the rest is history.

Just think all the GTS goodies on the SS came from the coupe , that would make it closer cousins to the GTS coupe than a 4 door GTS ...LOL
At least the SS is its own model as there is no SS HQ coupe..!

Just remember that most other actual performance Holdens are options on lesser spec vehicles:

A9X option on SL/R or SS;
L34 on SL/R;
XU-1 on GTR;
XW8 on V8 HQ Kingswood;
Plus most (if not all) of the HDT Commodores.

Only the 1837 HK-HG are "prem

I love the debate about the SSs and the GTS4s. Usually those that have them (me included) love them and those that dont cant stand them. That Mingswood bloke has a crack at everything and now we all know he has a monaro(he couldnt wait to get that out) he

The "Monaro" was the 2 door shell be it base model or GTS, so all coupes were Monaros. The problem came when GMH decided to use the Monaro name on the 4 door. It should have just been a 4 door GTS. I still feel if it has 4 doors it aint a Monaro. The GMH

Jim I do actually agree with you, but regardless Id still have an XW8 or XV4 "Monaro" any day over a HZ GTS which doesnt have the Monaro badging. In fact one of the reasons I have a CV8 instead of a GTO is because the HSV isnt badged as a Monaro. Im split

I see your still a clown. Your respect level is at a all time low.
Holden put a Monaro badge on them therefore they are Monaros.

[

Find a monaro badge on a HQ GTS 350 coupe. I dont think there is one, nor is there one on the HX LE, so your logic dont work??

if it carried the badge from the factory it is a monaro, if it didnt it isnt a monaro..

I get your point,

Arguing whether or not the GTS 4 door is a Monaro is pointless when Holden called it a Monaro. Who really gives a sh*t what its called anyway?

I will keep this short, as i can see that there are a lot of passionate people getting into this. I grew up with HG GTS Monaro, and to be honest had little time for the four door Monaros. Howevere, Having bought a four door HX GTS to use a bit during the
