How would an LX torana with a 253, M20 and GV4 (3:36) diff run? Would that be a weird combination?

Most of them were 3.08 with a 253 from memory. Would be pretty low geared.

Depends upon wheel size too. Remember these had 13" wheels with tiny tyres. If it had 14" rims with 245/60 tyres itd be OK at freeway speeds.

mate, ive got a 202 with a 4 speed and 3.55 diff. on 14s and 250s. runs alright at freeway speeds.. round 2.5 to 3K

ive got a hq with a 253 4 speed, 2.78 diff sits on 2500 rpm at 100 ks bit of a slug on take off but gets moving when the revs get up

I have a worked UC Torana with a fully restored diff which is 3.08 ratio. Im running it with 13" wheels and it sits on about 3700RPM at 100km/h. Has pretty good acceleration off the mark but is very thirsty once you are going anywhere above 100. Sits a bi
