Hello All, I read recently that the Ford Festivas were manufactured in the Kia factory in Korea: http://www.kia.com.au/About-Kia/default.aspxThis got me thinking, I recall many years ago that had heard the first Lasers came out of Korea, in knockdown form and then were assembled in Australia. What is the history of the Lasers, where were they manufactured? If it was Korea, then was it the Kia factory? Regards gts_hg

The Laser was an aussie copy of the mazda 323. Same story with the telstars and 626s. If memory serves me they were built in Aus and didn't come into the country as a kit. Back in the early 80s there were'nt too many korean cars here in aus in any form
