one for the older car rebuilders
I have a 49 L series Vauxhall I am restoring, similar to
the FJ, the rear drums are on a taper axle and to get them
off you need a puller that screws onto the drum and works
against the axle
what I need is the thread size and type on the drum as I
cant seem to find anything that fits to make up a puller,
any ideas anyone

unscrew the axle nuts about 2 turns, drive around the block a couple of time swerving the car, the hubs will slip just enough.
if the car is not driveable I think the thread is a standard pipe thread, see if you can get a few different sized galvanised

Vauxhall = British, could be Whitworth or as johnperth said British Standard Pipe.
See if you can find an engineering supply (nuts & bolts etc) company in your area and go and talk to them. If you live in the Illawarra try GRQ at Warilla.

I knew about the drive with nuts loose but no motor or box,
also thought it was pipe thread but have several but the
problem is the diameter, doesnt seem to fit pipe fittings
other option was to make up a plate that bolts to wheel nuts
and puller ins
