It was easy with my old points system, but my new car has an electronic dizzy, so just want to check. Do i have to splice it into the wire going to coil negative, as usual? Or is that what the extra lead off the terminal is designed specifically for?

Sounds simple but just thought id be sure. Cheers.

i just ran mine straight from negative on the coil

It dosnt work like that all the time it depends on the tacho and the distributor type.
Ihave an ACCEL Distributor with VDO Classic guages.Still cant get the tacho right.After firing the engine the tacos fine but as the minutes tick away the tacho reading
