I am currently rebuilding an EH Holden wagon and i was hoping for some advice on whether i should put a 350 chev ( carb or injected ) or LS1 both will be crate motors. Also what gearbox to use is annoying me to no end PLEASE HELP
Any advice would be greatful

turbo 700 with ls1 or 350 chev with turbo 400 both fit good

would it be alot of work to change the mounts, also has a lot mor pwr than the old 179 do i need to strengthen anything

ring castlemain rod shop, you will need a strengthening kit, hadfield do a lot of kits for this type of customising. To register this car it will have to be approved by an engineer, contact your RTA for details.

I can see a big change in the trans tunnel area...is your car originally auto or manual?

the car is an original 3 on the tree i have already told the guy removing the rust that im going to upgrade the donk and box but he needs to know what im going to put in so i can give him dimentions but still unshure. i would rather not put anything on th

chassis kit is a must and disk brakes the old steering box wont fit.. will have to go rack and pinion etc contact castlemaine rod shop

The CRS Chassis brace kit is pretty easy to make your self and there are lots of different otions out there for the R&P forn end aside form the CRS set up and there prices went through the roof when hadfeild sold out the other thing you need to consid Edited by user Thursday, 18 December 2008 4:19:56 PM(UTC)

this is going to be hard from the nt. i will try to get hold of an engineer in nsw to see what i can do because it will aventually be coming to newcastle. How hard is it to get a decent 308 and how much $$$

The V6 Commodore motor might be a better option in your EH, its much lighter to start with and with EFI its nearly as powerful as a stock NA 350.

i herd they have a bolt on conversion for the six so that will save some time and money. its also a better option for an everyday driver. could i keep the column auto idea alive with the six or am i dreaming.

VS utes were available with a column shift so it might be workable. If you planned to use a TH350 the TH700 is the same box with the overdrive.

you ever driven/worked on a holden v6? do your self a favor stick with the 308 if your worried about economy then convert to gas |

i agree a 308 would be easier to find my way around, sill need to strengthen the front end so i need to talk to a nsw engineer for what i can do.

There is also a guy named Gardner from Moree that does conversion kits for V6s into EH.

Blackhander...I have a feeling we might work for the same employer...I too work in Newcastle.
I can see you are going to have to get this thing engineered....so it might be worth consulting with an enginner first to see what they say..and that might co
