Can the moderators split the Technical stuff

It seems that lately the "General Discussion" and "Technical Talk" have been getting mixed up way too much. I have been reading this site for many years and love the Techincal help, tips and amazing knowledge available on all things Holden. However Im sick of the gutter talk and garbage that some people carry on with.
Is is possible to split the two areas into two sections as above. Those who want to jostle and gossip can do in there own space and those who want help and continue the share valueable knowledge can do so as well. This is a great forum and I would not like to be another regular reader and contributor to move on to other sites,
cheers Scott

I personally dont mind the way it is structured now and I dont mind the occasional off topic stuff but by the same token i dont see any problem with what Scott has suggested either.. An off-topic page and a technical question page wouldnt be a huge change

Good points "Holdnon". I think this would be great, especially if you have to be a registered member to access the Technical Talk. Would save a lot of wasted time surfing through the unnecessary posts to find some genuine articles. Leave the so called "o

Totally agree with splitting it, and requiring registration to use the tech section (leave unregd/anonymous posts for the general section only).
That way all the rubbish can stay in the general area, and we dont need to look at it!
Cheers,

If the compelercatered technercal page is too much for some orps, there will still be the genrel sight where it will be nice and simpel... win win.

With a change like that I think I may come here more often again. One of the things I didnt really like was the anonymous posting and also the annoyance it created amongst those genuinely wanting to use this site for technical reasons.
