If your in Vic its not worth it as Ive got my HT Prem on club rego and everytime you want to take the car out for a drive you have to get a permit.

S.A Historic reg is very good ,I have 3 on Historic reg. Yes you get 90 days a year and you pick which days to drive it.
You get a log book to fill in before you drive it (this reg`s the car).

I seriously looked into club rego a few years ago(I live in NSW)and it seemed a bit of a mine field up here.
Each club had a different understanding of the rules and the rules up here have alot of grey areas.
In NSW you can drive your car up to 5-15kms(

Hi Tex.

Yes, the problem of lack of understanding of the rules in NSW is a problem.

Firstly, modified cars are not allowed on HCRS rego. (HCRS= Historical Concessional Registration Scheme). The RTA rules state that the car must be as close as possib

My personal opinion is that a car on a Club Permit should be "As Manufactured" with the only changes allowed to the car being those offrered at the time by the dealer.

It would keep the system easier to manage.

I agree Custom that the rules need to be clarifyed.I hate GREY areas.

Just one thing though.......why can the Hotrod boys have wild modifications and the later model cars are more restricted?

Seems a bit unfair!.........Oh well thats life I spose.

Qld rules come under the hot rod rules, anything is allowed as long as the car is over 30 years, you are a member of an incorperated club and restrictions apply to club runs, meetings, registered outings, such as shows, swap meets etc. they have to be in

My car is a HR Special sedan. My gandads car from new, my dads car from the mid 80s, now mine. Absolutely stock.

Yeh, I have heard of the SA system being considered/introduced. Maybe 4-5 years ago I had that conversation about the SA scheme with a fella that has lots (& I mean lots of vehicles) suitable for club permit. The SA scheme does sounds good, until then, we

Just had a quick look at the link from tripple webers, the original draft from OAMC was submitted Dec 05. Great initiative, bureaucracy unfortunately gets in the way. I would definately go back to club permit if the draft was implemented.

They are thinking about adopting the permit book scheme but Ive read in our club magazine that it will only be a 30 day booklet.

Cheers Stephen

30 days for a restricted use vehicle. Thats better than a drive a fortnight on average. Or a month each day. On face value, that isnt too bad. Middle ground at 60 days would be good.

In Vic the Club Reg system is as restrictive as the Club you are withs events calender.

I try to list every auto event I can find on the HD HR Club of Vics calender so that if Heathcote drags are on you could take you Club Reg car for a run in that dir
