With the possibility of thinners and paint chemicals eating the plastic or having unwanted scratch/sanding marks.
Have you seen what thinners does to a fascia?
The HJ/HX GTS fascia is not exactly flat and a breeze to mask up.

so all the plastic welders/restorers/platers are throwing all this stuff that customers send into the bin because its got factory or other paint on it?

pfft find a clue mario. if youre dipping your plastic in thinners I suggest you stick to grano work

Guffy there was no mention of a new fascia.
I was on about doing your own fascia...2nd hand,old,dated,armour alld and all that biz.
Im sure the surface has to be cleaned and prepared.
Doing it on a brand new one is a different story.

Hi Mario, I reread it (not really) but Im still convinced you are either clueless or mildly retarded. Perhaps you could enlighten me as to how you can get sanding scratches in a piece of plastic no matter how many layers of duff paint are on it?

No worries John, and as soon as you can spell dissolve or specify any concentration whatsoever of phosphoric acid that strips paint (off anything) (or chrome off plastic) let us know. Otherwise Ill just be content to hang sh!t on Mario just like he did a
