I have a HK Monaro which I am rebuilding.
Took shockers out to replace bushes. All four are Monroe manufactured under licence by W H Wylie South Australia.
Fronts are stamped "GM 2806490 7H8"
Rears are stamped "GM 2806495 16E8".
I assume the 7H8 & 16E8 are 1968 date codes but neither part no. appears in my Blue HK Parts Manual.
Would be interested to know what model they were made for if anyone can help.

This number is not a part number but a refered to by Holden as a "Branding". I think it will be the part number for just the tube, simular to a head casting number.

2806495 is the part No . I have an LC XU1 and those are the shock's on the rear.

The numbers appearing on any shock absorber are the part number of that shock absorber. What appears in a parts book is a part number for the shock absorber package which contains the shocker, mounting bushes, plates, nuts and so on. I got confused by thi

Since my original post, I have had a friend check his copies of the HT, HG, HQ & LJ Parts book to see if the numbers I quoted appear - they do not.
However, I also contacted the previous owner of the car and he

Holden Musclecar Fan is absolutely correct. The parts catalogue has the part number of a package and not of the actual shock absorber you intend fitting to the car. In 1978, that white box with a blue GM logo on it would have contained the cor
