Hi all......There seems to be a lot of different tail shafts for HK-T-G Monaro GTS. So many different part #,so many different colours. Same colour different part #, same part # different colour. Original release and later replacements. Can anyone tell me where it all finished up ?..... All the best regards.

Thanks HK1837, Thats about it though,which. Try V8s with a Saginaw and a salisbury, that should narrow it down quite a bit..... All best regards.

That cuts it down to 3 different types. Dark green (2.75" diameter), as well as violet & orange (3" diameter). AFIAK the orange units had thicker wall tubing. This doesnt count M15,
M35 or M40 transmission & Saginaw combinations.

Thanks Dr Terry and shifty350.... Whats confusing me is the 0ne part number coming up in different colours ie. part# 7439318 shows up in parts books in dark green and violet. OR one colour coming up with different part numbers ie violet shows up with part

what is the part number & colour tail sharft for a late hk monaro with a 307 4 speed saginaw 2.54 with a 10bolt salisbury 3.36 thanks

What they are saying is the Green shaft was standard until a certain date in HK where the voilet was introduced (and retrofitted to many cars at service time). The voilet continued into HT and HG where the orange one superceded it.

When the orange shaft is used to replace the violet or green shaft the yoke also had to be changed.

Thanks Warren. yeh it would have kept the spare parts blokes on their toes. Oh, I got around to giving mine a good wash the other day and found the white stencil part# 2810283..... hazzard county, I didnt think there was any ill intent on your part...de
