Hi guys,
Q1: Got a 350 chev going into a HK ute, should be hitting high 300 hp. Dont have a radiator at the moment and looking at purchasing an aluminium PWR radiator (I have been told the Aussie Desert Coolers aren't that great?)

I am also undecided on getting a thermo (or 2 smaller ones) or sticking with the engine fan, apparently the engine fan is more efficient if you can get a shroud for it (or fabricate one).

So 1. Which radiator brand and 2. Thermo's or engine fan?
I want to make sure I never have cooling problems so want to do this properly the first time!
Q2: List your favourite auto shifters (mine will be for a TH350). I have been looking at the B&M megashifter but have heard they are sticky sometimes and the Quicksilver gives a better shift. What do you use? I should also add, with these shifters are there any rego troubles in QLD?

Id just get a 4 row HZ style (from wherever), use a viscous clutch fan off a HQ-HZ and a Rare Spares HT Chev V8 shroud.
Shifer Id use a HT-HG trimatic one.

I replaced a brass radiator, (shortened HQ style with a 327 in an EH), with an aluminium Aussie Desert Coolers radiator 2 years ago. 15 years of great service from the brass. Priceless, Norm Hardinge suggesting that the Canadian pulley on my water pump &

if your like me, and hate engine driven fans, do yourself a HUGE favour, and fit au/el thermofans to your radiator.

Im using a triple bypass brass/copper unit on 450hp and it cools great, even in traffic in a HJ.

standard issue hq 3 core would work,

im pretty sure the megashifter is the only legal one due to the gear indicator panel being on the "correct" side.

Most of the issues with cable shifters, is the monkey who sets up the cable.

Ive had a megashifter almost 6 yrs with no problem, apart
