can someone please give me the TOTAL mechanical advance for an automatic 308 HQ engine, happy to go with stock figures as the engine is only mildly worked, and i can slightly retard it if needed

i have bought an adjustable reading timing light, and want to check the timing on full advance

i am used to timing on full advance, coz thats how it's done on my BSA rocket lll and my triumph bonneville.

thanx in advance, johnny

modified holdens like 30 to 34 degrees of TOTAL timing. So put it in neutral, timing light connected, disconnect the vac advance and slowly increase revs until you see the timing stop advancing. this is the point where the dizzy has advanced the most its

I thought you would leave the Vac Advance connected ?
Wouldnt that give you even more Advance(in Total)??

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
