I hope no one here is directly involved, bloody terrible thing! Apart from the people and animals and property lost, there has been some footage of some classic cars burnt. A old Fairlane, a HQ something, (only saw the front sticking out of a collapsed shed, and then a bloke was being interviewed beside a burnt KT or G Monaro in a shed.

this is absolutely terrible, the fires, the human lossses,,
and i find at this time it incredulous, that the gov is trying to blame so called arsonists for them??

after reading todays news i see they have arrested a 'SUSPECTED ARSONIST', for the churchill fires,,
another one in the ivanhoe area they are wanting to question??
this leaves 25fires alight across the state!! with possible instantaneous combustion, tw

can somoene explain to me how a piece of timber/twig will miraculously spontaneously combust when it touches a powerline?

Yet birds dont fry if they perch on it?

(i know the answer, im curious as to the physics used to acertain the above)

Bear referred to "twigs blown across powerlines" rather than a tree falling over (which does cause issues I agree)

firstly, i may be suffering from information overload, but i havent really noticed the arsonist theory being rammed down my throat by the media. The fact that an alleged arsonist was arrested and charged for the churchill fire, of which people i know suff

burn me at the stake for these comments but if it was an arsonist or power lines it make no difference the fire did start & did claim property & lives.not only did it take lives it took the lives of innocent young children that had no defence against the
