Can anyone tell me if UC 6 cylinders came out with radiator fan shrouds? I got a defect for tyres and they also put fan shroud' on the notice. I haven't been able to find out if they came out with them or not. Any ideas??

Where abouts are you? Join up to gmh-torana.com.au and do a search. Call Graham at Thompsons Automotive (02) 4960 8488 he would know as he has a few LXs and a UC. I dont think Ive ever seen a shroud on any Torana, full stop. Although an A/C UC comes with a viscous fan, probably same with LH and UC.

hi
I dont believe they had a shroud, more a finger guard as in the pic. I had a stock 79 UC with 202, auto with overflow tank mounted alongside the washer bottle and a viscous fan and there was no shroud, just the finger guard. And no a/c either.

Thanks, i havent got A/C but I have got a fan guard. Yet i still got defected. I think they have to learn their own laws...

I guess even if you asked them nicely where its written down that it requires a shroud, theyd go through your car like a dose of salts ...
I might have a exploded diagram of the UC cooling system which I may be able to scan for you when Im at work
