hi Im trying to remove the doors from both my vk and a vl I am wrecking and am trying to push the pin out but all that is happening is the punch we are using is breaking

is there a trick to this what am i doing wrong? can anyone shed any light on this koz its getting really annoying as I'm trying to prep the car for paint soon.

the punch is breaking???
is it the right size??
it shouldnt break i have done plenty....get the right size and punch down from the top
keep it straight..punch the pin half way out, and pull the pin the rest of the way
multigrips...

Soak the pins every day with WD40 for a week before trying it again.

OK thanks for that can you tell me what size the punch is then? because i am probably using the wrong sized one also is there a trick to getting the front and rear windscreen and quarter windows out?

You can buy a special pin removal tool for Commodore door pins. Its a rod with a screw on end which goes through the pin. You then screw the end on and use the bar provided and a hammer to whack the pin out (pull it through) from the easy side.

The rear screens on both pop out like the old style ones. Tease up the rubber & push them out with your feet.

Front screen in the VK also works like that (but will most likely break unless youre experienced & patient).

VL front screen is glued in w

you were right about the front screen i had an attempt at getting the urethane out and it cracked so its going with the car now. annoying because i need one for my vk.

next question how do i get the wiper jets out and the accelerator pedal assembly ou

The wiper jets snap in place. Its easiest to get 2 small screwdrivers & jam them into each side the jet from underneath, to release the snap-clips.

VK & VL screens are different - the VL has the black paint mask - it looks crap if you try to fit it to

Im in Melbourne so Sydney is a bit far to travel. does anyone in Melbourne have a good condition tinted windscreen for a vk?

Trade price a brand new and fitted tinted screen would be about $165. Ring around and tell them you want it done for $165 cash, and if you can get a better price, you are doing well. They will supply and fit on site the new screen for you. Look in the Yel
